ABOUT US
ABC Pelican Chapter was incorporated and developed in April 1980 from the growth of the merit shop in Louisiana and the need to adequately service the construction industry throughout the state. The Pelican Chapter was an outgrowth from the ABC Louisiana Chapter headquartered in New Orleans.
The first president of the Pelican Chapter was A. Hays Town, Jr. The officers elected at that time were: Lane Grigsby, Richard Gill, Gary Anderson, and E.C. Schafer. The initial board members were: Al Pendarvis, Clark McLellan, David Donaldson, John Shuford, Rick Picou, Clifford DePriest, Bill Jowers, Lewell Ricord, Raywood Baudoin, and Tom Freeman.
The pioneers of the association were dedicated to the idea that, working together through an organization, they could improve the ethical practices and skills of the industry and work for legislation that would be beneficial to the industry and the state of Louisiana.
Over the past twenty-two years, ABC Pelican Chapter has grown tremendously. With our foundation still firmly entrenched in the idea of merit shop, we have soared to great heights.
