BATON ROUGE - The Pelican Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc. today announced that representatives from 75 high schools and more than a dozen contractors will participate in Program Partners Signing Day to reinforce their commitment to develop the next generation of craft workers. A tour of the Baton Rouge Training Center will follow the signing.
“At ABC Pelican’s Signing Day, we bring together the job creators and educators to commit to the future of the construction industry, just like student-athletes commit to a college in the Spring,” said David Helveston, President and CEO of the Pelican Chapter of the Associated Builders and Contractors. “A craft career offers quality opportunities for Louisiana’s high school students, including a competitive salary and a chance to continue their education; look no further than the salaries for carpenters, electricians, and welders in our state. I hope you’ll join us as Louisiana educators and businesses re-affirm their commitment to prepare high school students to begin their careers in the construction industry.”
