“At ABC Pelican’s Signing Day, we bring together the job creators and educators to commit to the future of the construction industry, just like student-athletes commit to a college in the Spring,” said David Helveston, President and CEO of the Pelican Chapter of the Associated Builders and Contractors. “A craft career offers quality opportunities for Louisiana’s high school students, including a competitive salary and a chance to continue their education; look no further than the salaries for carpenters, electricians, and welders in our state. I hope you’ll join us as Louisiana educators and businesses re-affirm their commitment to prepare high school students to begin their careers in the construction industry.”
