![]() Baton Rouge and Southwest Annual Clay Shoots Katherine Fremin With Louisiana fall weather in full force and only a few football games left on the docket, it can only mean one thing: duck season is approaching. Not only does this mean the majority of Louisiana women who are dating or married to a hunter have at least 11 weekends of rest and relaxation before the Christmas season, it also means all of the hunters out there better be warmed up to bring home some game for cooking. What better way to practice that perfect shot than a sporting clay tournament? The Pelican Chapter was fortunate enough to host not one but two sporting clay tournaments to kick of arguably the greatest season of them all. The First Annual Southwest Clay Shoot was held on September 18, and the Annual Baton Rouge Clay Shoot was held on October 2. Each tournament was a huge success, and Pelican Chapter thanks all of the volunteers, sponsors and shooting teams for their participation. Turn to pages 14-17 for more on each tournament.
