WESTLAKE, LA. – The Pelican Chapter of the Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc. today announced that 146 students will graduate from its Southwest Training Center this Thursday after completing craft training courses in electrical (25 graduates), heavy equipment (37), instrumentation (7), millwright (14), pipefitting (8), site safety (7), and welding (48).
“These graduates chose ABC Pelican to be part of their career pathway, and I commend each craft professional for the skills they have cultivated with us,” said David Helveston, President and CEO of the Pelican Chapter of the Associated Builders and Contractors. “Wherever these graduates choose to utilize these skills, they are building our state and communities stronger. These credentials are a result of hours of dedication and sacrifice, and I hope you can join us in honoring these students’ hard work and perseverance.”

Who: Craft professionals who have completed course work for their respective craft this past fall and spring. Business and construction industry leaders will also be in attendance. David Nixon, Maintenance and Reliability Manager for Lyondell Basell, will give keynote remarks.
