BATON ROUGE – The Pelican Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc. invites you to join us for Build Your Future Day 2019, an educational event filled with construction-related demonstrations and exhibits that approximately 1,000 high school students from across Louisiana will attend to learn about careers in construction.
“Our high school students deserve ample opportunities to be the future of our state’s workforce,” said David Helveston, President and CEO of the Pelican Chapter of the Associated Builders and Contractors. “In order to keep young talent here, it’s our responsibility to introduce them to the countless long-term, well-paying career opportunities available in the construction industry. Louisiana is the state with the fifth highest demand for craft professionals, so the need to recruit is great. Join us for Build Your Future Day and get to know Louisiana’s next generation of craft professionals.”
What: October is Careers in Construction Month, which is a nationwide campaign that educates the public about the lifelong opportunities available for a craft professional. As part of Careers in Construction Month, the New Orleans/Bayou Chapter and Pelican Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc. invited high school students from across Louisiana to learn from industrial professionals what careers in the construction industry looks like. Students will see and interact with at least 60 exhibits and demonstrations from industry experts.

The Pelican Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors Inc. (ABC) was incorporated in 1980 and covers 52 parishes in Louisiana.
