ABC craft training center hosts graduation ceremony for 78 graduates SULPHUR, La. (06/03/2016) - The Pelican Chapter, Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc. (ABC) hosted its Southwest Training Center graduation ceremony on Thursday, June 2, for 78 students graduating in the following crafts: welding, carpentry, earth moving, mobile crane, millwright, heavy equipment, scaffold building, pipefitting, electrical and instrumentation.
“ABC is proud of its students who are now ready to take the next steps in their career in construction,” director of education Kirby Bruchhaus said. “Using industry veteran instructors, ABC aligns its curriculum with the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) knowing that it will train the best quality workforce for the construction industry in South Louisiana.” NCCER began in 1996 with the support of more than 125 construction CEOs and various association and academic leaders wanting to revolutionize training for the construction industry. “Our focus at the Pelican Chapter is to offer our innovative training using the latest and most up-to-date curricula available,” Pelican Chapter president Alvin M. Bargas stated. “We wish our recently graduated students the best in their future careers.”
