ABC PACs Endorse Candidates in Run-off Election
BATON ROUGE, La. (11/5/2015) – On Thursday, ABC Merit PAC, the political action committee of the Associated Builders and Contractors New Orleans/Bayou Chapter, and ABC Pelican PAC, the political action committee of the Associated Builders and Contractors Pelican Chapter, announced several endorsements for the 2015 fall Legislative elections.
The ABC Merit PAC and ABC Pelican PAC support candidates for elective state or local office within the state of Louisiana who embrace the basic principles of our American system of government, the free enterprise system and the merit shop philosophy. The purpose of the ABC PACs is to support candidates who have committed to fight for a more prosperous economy and a higher standard of living for the people of Louisiana through the growth of a vibrant merit shop construction industry within the State; candidates that will leverage Louisiana’s unique advantages to raise families and gain positive returns on business opportunities.
Multiple factors were used during the candidate evaluation process which led to the endorsement of the following candidates in the run-off election:
ABC Merit and ABC Pelican PACs are non-partisan political action committees working to recruit and support candidates who support the free enterprise system and believe in the Merit Shop Philosophy.
CEOs from Top Baton Rouge Contractors to Discuss Latest Impacts on Industry and Construction Economy

(BATON ROUGE) – The Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA) and the Pelican Chapter, Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc. (ABC) will produce a South Louisiana Construction Economic Forum, with a panel of the top CEOs from Baton Rouge contractors and an economic forecast for the south Louisiana construction industry, to take place on Thursday, November 19, 2015, at L’Auberge Baton Rouge.
The law firm of Taylor Porter and the accounting firm of Hannis T. Bourgeois LLP are the presenting sponsors of the event.
Registration closes on Nov. 13, and is available here. CFA members are free and allowed one guest; ABC members are $25; and general admission is $40.
The welcome and introduction of the panel will begin at 3 p.m., followed by the panel at 3:15 p.m., moderated by Dan Borne, President of the Louisiana Chemical Association. Panelists include Newton Thomas, President of The Newtron Group; Roland Toups, Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of Turner Industries Group, L.L.C.; David Roberts, Owner of EXCEL Group; and Andy Dupuy, Brown & Root Industrial Services CEO.

Following the panel, remarks will be given by Stuart Binstock, President of the CFMAThe economic forecast presentation will commence at 4:30 p.m. and delivered by Anirban Basu, Chairman and CEO of Sage Policy Group and Chief Economist for CFMA and ABC.

ABC Merit PAC and ABC Pelican PAC Endorse David Vitter for Governor
BATON ROUGE, La. – The ABC Merit PAC and the ABC Pelican PAC are pleased to announce the endorsement of Sen. David Vitter for governor of Louisiana. The Merit PAC and Pelican PAC are the Political Action Committees for the two chapters of Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc. (ABC) located in Louisiana. ABC represents over 700 member companies in Louisiana, with a combined workforce of over 100,000.
Chairman of the ABC Pelican PAC Joe Wiley stated, “Sen. Vitter has been a reliable defender of the Merit Shop Philosophy in Louisiana and has the votes to prove it. He continually supports the Louisiana construction industry—specifically our efforts to strengthen workforce development. Sen. The Pelican Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) was incorporated in 1980 and has grown to over 500 members, covering 52 parishes in Louisiana.
