Local ABC Contractor Members Receive National Safety Recognition
BATON ROUGE, La. (10/28/15) – The Pelican Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) recognized 33 contractor members with the prestigious Safety Training and Evaluation Process (STEP) awards at the quarterly Industrial Contractor Council luncheon on Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2015.
Established in 1989 by the ABC National Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) Committee, STEP is an organized approach for analyzing and developing safety and loss prevention programs. The Key Component System forms a 20-point guide to starting, updating or auditing a company-wide safety program.

The Pelican Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) was incorporated in 1980 and has grown to over 500 members, covering 52 parishes in Louisiana. It has developed into a statewide, diverse, non-profit, trade association of contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and associates who have joined together to advance the construction industry by aggressively supporting their mission, to promote and protect the Merit Shop Philosophy and the principles of the free enterprise system in the construction industry.
